O for a draught of the warm Andalusian South! The songs, dances and virtuoso
Guitars of Grupo Danzaluna transport its public into the world of Flamenco. The
ensemble’s variety, energy and artistic excellence will captivate you and fill your
evening with pulsating rhythms, deep and passionate feelings.
Performances include feverishly expressive Flamenco dances, Folk songs and
dances, instrumentals and songs of the Sinti and Roma.
Manuela de Cartuja (dancer):
Her passion for Flamenco was awakened by the premier figures of Spanish dance
who were also her teachers in Granada (Spain) and elsewhere. In recent years,
Manuela has been following a successful teaching career in the Würzburg “Tap
House” and the Ballet school “Klein – Langner”
She has taught at various festivals, including the International Dance Festival in
Aachen (Germany) in 2002.
Barbara Puppa Hennerfeind (guitarist,singer,dancer):
Concert guitarist and stylistic eclecticist, solo performances, Guitar Duo” Agua y
Vino” , Guitar Duo “Duo Tedesco Nuevo”, various live performances and CD
recordings. Guest performance for the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Mainfranken
Theater in Würzburg. Studied at the music conservatories in Würzburg and Köln –
Wuppertal. Studied Flamenco guitar with, among others, J. Nuñez, F. Cortez;
Flamenco singing with Luis M. Vargas and Carmen de Torres.
Erik Weisenberger (guitarist):
Is self-taught guitarrist and studied Flamenco guitar with, among others, Lobito, and in
Andalusia with JuanMa de Barbate. Since 1997 he has worked intensively with the
Flamenco dancer Manuela de Cartuja and is co-founder of Grupo Danzaluna. His
interest in experimentation and improvisation has led him to search out ever new
sounds and musical forms. In this way, he has succeeded in combining the sound of
the resonator guitar with the music of “Agua y Vino”.
Danzaluna offers complete evening performances as well as shorter stage
appearances during gala events ect. An excursion into the world of fiery rhythms and
romantic melodies.
